If you’re here, chances are the old coping strategies aren't cutting it anymore. Maybe your relationship is unraveling behind the scenes. Maybe sobriety is stable, but joy feels distant. Maybe you carry a grief that no one else seems to understand.

This is where we begin.

My Approach

I specialize in high-conflict relationships and addiction issues. I’m not a passive therapist. I won’t just nod and ask, “How does that make you feel?” We’ll actively explore what’s not working, why it keeps happening, and how to build something stronger, together.

For over 26 years, I have worked in the substance abuse and mental health field in various clinical settings, holding executive positions in renowned treatment centers.

My clinical orientation blends:

  • Individual Therapy

  • Couples Therapy (including the Developmental Model)

  • Family Systems Therapy

  • Addiction Treatment and Intervention Support

  • Attachment-Focused Therapy

  • EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)

  • ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)

  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy

  • Clinical Hypnosis

  • Wellness and Executive Coaching (by referral or request)

Who I Work With

Individuals

I support high-achieving professionals, creatives, and executives facing:

  • Anxiety, burnout, and emotional numbness

  • Addiction, sobriety support, and relapse prevention

  • Life transitions: divorce, relocation, loss, reinvention

Couples

I'll help you work toward a connection that can hold truth, pain, and change.

  • High-conflict couples and public-facing relationships

  • Dual-career couples struggling with power, parenting, and presence

  • Partners navigating infidelity, resentment, or emotional distance

Families

I specialize in supporting:
Multi-generational families dealing with legacy, wealth, and visibility.

  • Parents raising children in cross-cultural contexts

  • High-conflict family therapy for systems affected by addiction, estrangement, or trauma

  • Founders’ families and family businesses navigating public and private boundaries

Expats

Expat therapy for adjustment and identity work for practitioners moving their business abroad.

You don’t need a cheerleader.

You need someone who can walk with you through the hard parts and help you emerge clearer, calmer, and more capable.

A message from Colleen.

The challenges we face in life can be overwhelming. Struggle can arise from the minutiae of daily life, the complexity and relationships, and happenings on a global scale.

It can be incomprehensible at times.

I truly respect you. I will work collaboratively with you– not through a strange, uncomfortable hierarchy. You know what is best for you. Together, we will find out exactly what that is so you can live a life of peace, joy, and fulfillment.

Healing the past is a great start, but we also want to be equipped to feel alive and content in the present. Being prepared for difficult circumstances in the future allows us to handle them with grace and ease.

I will not sit there, nod, and ask: "How does that make you feel?" My approach is much more active. Instead, we will work together to create the life you want. I interweave assessment with psychodynamic, family systems, humor, and attachment-focused therapy with coaching techniques and mindfulness to provide personal, individualized treatment.

I specialize in high-conflict couples and families. My individual clients are those who struggle with anxiety, getting sober, are in long-term sobriety, or are expats adjusting to their new country. Being 30 years in recovery myself, I also offer intervention, placement, and aftercare services.

I am a California-licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) with a PhD, practicing in France for the past 9 years. In France, only certain professionals may use the legal title “psychotherapist”, so I use the broader title therapist. My focus is on couples, families, and individuals, bringing over 30 years of international experience. Sessions are private-pay; some supplemental insurances (mutuelles) may cover part of the cost.
